Classifier Has High Precision A new high-capacity classifier that increases the precision with which fine powdered materials m a y be divided by particle size was re­ cently demonstrated. T h e unit is available in four sizes, with capacity ranging from approximately 1000 to 30,000 pounds per hour. Extremely small and compact in relation to its high capacity, a unit with a nominal rating of 10,000 pounds per hour occupies about the space of a n office desk. In a typical production setup, the powder is fed into the classifier from a vibratory feeder. After classification, the fine fraction is carried by the exhauster air stream to a collector. T h e coarse fraction is carried out through the air lock of the classifier, from which it is either returned to the mill for regrinding or is collected as product. Dept. A rigid, foamed plastic insulation board that combines light weight a n d moderate cost with high compressive strength and high in­ sulating efficiency is now on the market. T h e material has more than sufficient strength for use u n d e r concrete wearing floors, as free­ standing walls in cold rooms, and in walls and floors of truck and trailer bodies. It can be used at tempera­ tures from - 5 0 ° F. to 160° F. I t is applied using an adhesive, with additional support supplied in cold rooms by hardwood skewers or galvanized nails. Dept.
