Chas. Pfizer & Co., Inc., has eut prices of terramycin, as of Sept. 27, amounting to 1 5 % on oral capsules and 40r/r on the intravenous form. Though the manufacturers', or wholesale, price is not announced on the capsules, the retail price in pure crystalline form, for oral administration, is now $2.04 per gram. A price is also announced for the animal feed grade in bulk form from the manufacturer, impure grade, as 15 cents per gram. New prices represent about 4 0 % reduction since terramycin was placed on the market 18 months ago. Improved production techniques, expanded capacity, and greatly increased demand made possible price cuts.

T h e D u Pont Co. has reduced prices of two of its insecticides about 1 1 7 2 % on the basis of carlot deliveries: "Marlate" methoxychlor insecticides and EPN-300, an organic phosphorus compound. Increased sales volume and wider applications have m a d e the reductions possible. Thus EPN-300, first offered commercially in the spring of 1950, was designed at first for orchard mites only, b u t by now its use has spread to a number of major insect pests.
