4 Falk & Co., Pittsburgh 30, in its market letter of June 22, states that flax has dropped 40 cents per bushel since the last market letter, equivalent to a decline of 2 cents per pound on linseed oil. Actually linseed oil has dropped more than this, apparently discounting a further possible flax decline. As of June 22 linseed oil was quoted at 17 cents per pound in tank cars in zone 1. Weather for growing flax has been al most perfect. Soybean oil has been weak because of complete lack of buying in terest. June—July oil is quoted at 15.5 cents. Cottonseed oil has been weak in response to weakness in other fats and oils and because new crop cottonseed will be available Aug. 1. Fish oil has dropped in sympathy with other oils, with good light pressed at 16 cents, N e w York.
