In 1947, CHEMICAL & ENGINEERING NEWS increased its frequency and became a weekly publication. At that time many companies were already advertising in C&EN to tell the management and tech nical people in the industry about their products. Over 130 of these advertisers are still with us today. We asked some of them to tel,l us what part C&EN played in their growth during the past 15 years. Here is what they said:

W ^ A t B. F. Goodrich Chemical Company, we look on the chemically trained man as being indispensable in the growth of materials we now make or may introduce. This man, we feel, possesses technical knowledge that enables him to appreciate how our Carbopol water-soluble polymers can make existing products better and new products possible. W e are concerned in communicating to this same type of individual our experience and capability in the areas of thermoplastic and rubber-like materials in support of such products as Geon vinyls, Estane polyurethanes, Hycar rubber and Abson ABS materials. In our opinion, advertising in CHEMICAL & ENGINEERING NEWS has helped us communicate to these all-important men. Their scientific attitude leads them to investigate new capabilities; in turn, their acceptance of our products accounts to some appreciable degree for the sales growth we have e n j o y e d . · φ L.
