All modules may be used for variable frequencies in the range 4 - 6 0 MHz and include receivers, programmers, oscil lators, and amplifiers up to 2500 W. These modules can be combined to form complete spectrometers with exact specifications according to the customer's requirements. A feature of the equipment is the handling of very long pulses without significant droop, thus enabling 7Ί ρ measurements to be made with all of the standard modules. Polaron Instruments, Inc. 415

Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer Model 2500 consists of a quadrupole mass spectrometer with energy prefilter, an ion bombardment system, and the electronic controls required to ob tain positive and negative SIMS data. The ion bombardment system includes an ion gun capable of delivering a fo cused beam of ions to the sample in ei ther a static or a rastered mode. Ras ter-gating is included for improved SIMS depth profiling capability. The en ergy filter prevents high-energy ions and neutral particles from entering the quadrupole, thereby increasing the sys tem signal-to-noise ratio. The quadru pole and filter in combination enable better than unit mass resolution throughout the mass range of 1-300 AMU. Physical Electronics Industries, Inc. 416

Model MA-030 mass marker for time-of-flight mass spectrometers displays the mass num ber with large characters in tenths of an amu. The unit supplies a discrete mark every 1 amu, a higher amplitude mark every 10 amu, and the highest amplitude mark every 100 amu. The MA-030 also affords extremely high stability for long-term reliability of readout and is ac curate to within ±0.1 amu. CVC Products Inc. 405

Model CSO-142 liquid composite sampler features the solid-state crystal-controlled FTS-200 flow/time interval sampler controller, PP-80 pumping system, and PR-200A auto matic backflush pump reverse control system. The sampler controller has a selector switch which permits either flow proportional (1000-99 000 gal in 1000-gal steps) or time interval sampling (1-99 min in 1-min steps). The sample pumping system has a direct drive, constant-speed synchronous motor, and a high-volume 3 / 8 -in. i.d. tubing pump. At the completion of the sampling cycle, the PR200A reverses the pump evacuating the line of all liquid to ensure sample freshness. Fluid Kinetics Inc. 406
