nômorrow: R-What? UOPs new PLATFORMING® catalysts promise profits The pioneers of catalytic reforming are ahead of the field with the new, highlyactive, more stable R-16® and R-20® series catalysts for the Platforming process. UOP's bi-metallic R-16 has now been commercially proven in more than 50 Platforming units around the world. R-16 has improved profitability many ways: Through increased throughput, greater reformate and aromatic yield, high octane capability, less frequent regeneration, and reduced catalyst investment. And now UOP's latest bi-metallic catalyst, R-20, is performing successfully in over 25 units. In certain applications, it increases Platformate and aromatic yield significantly over R-16. Remarkably stable, both these Platforming catalysts permit refiners to improve operations in existing units, even more in new installations for producing today's gasolines . . . leaded, low-lead or no-lead. As for tomorrow, work being done today by UOP Research promises ever greater benefits. For the full story on today's catalytic innovations, ask your UOP experts in Houston, Tulsa, Los Angeles . . .
