Successful synthesis of chlordecone alcohol and its deuterated, tritiated, and dechlorinated analogues is described. Borohydride reduction of chlordecone or of one of its dechlorinated derivatives resulted in the formation of the corresponding alcohol in greater than 6Qc/c yield. Characterization of reduction products was established by chromatographic (GLC; TLC) and spectral (IR; NMR; MS) analyses. OH
