This book features key papers on the topic of uncertainty in chemical measurement that appeared in the journal Accreditation and Quality Assurance in 1997-2002. In the Preface, De Bie`vre stresses that this is not an “integrated book”, but rather a collection of papers to describe the still rather controversial concept of uncertainty. In this book, various interpretations of uncertainty are given, as are various methodologies for evaluating it.
