Flash point is a chemical property widely used to characterize the flammability of chemicals in storage and transportation. The flash point values and boiling point values for each of 248 organic compounds are paired for statistical analysis of the correlation between these physical properties. The flash point values for 179 organic compounds are tabulated by carbonchain length and functional group to facilitate inquiry-based activities into correlating the effects of chemical structure on physical properties. These data sets provide a flexible resource for instruction in data analysis.
