NEWS European C o n f e r e n c e on Electron Microscopy—1964 The Third European Regional Conference on Electron Microscopy will be held in Prague, Czechoslovakia, August 26 to September 3, 1964. This meeting is being organized by the National Committee for Electron Microscopy of the Czechoslovak Academy of Science under the auspices of the International Federation of Societies for Electron Microscopy. The conference will deal with physics and the construction of electron microscopes, as well as with biological, medical, chemical, metallurgical, and technological subjects connected with electron microscopy. Related fields such as electron diffraction and interferometry, ion emission and x-ray microscopy will also be covered. Contributed papers should not be longer than 10 minutes; papers will be read in four or five parallel sessions. The practice adopted at the Philadelphia Congress in 1962 of preeongress publication of the conference papers will be follewed. The meeting will include an exhibition of microscopes, photographs, and related equipment. Courses

Analytical Engineering Laboratories, Inc., will hold courses on gas and thin layer chromatography at Stratford, Conn. The gas chromatography course will be held October 7 to 9 and the tuition is $125. The thin layer chromatography course will meet October 10 and 11, and the tuition is $100. Combined tuition is $200. Radicals

The Society of Physical Chemists of France will hold its 40th annual meeting at Bordeaux from May 25 to 29, 1964. The subject of this meeting is the structure of polyatomic radicals. Research specialists in the various techniques used in structure edification of radicals engendered by the excitation or rupture of molecules will present papers on their work.
