G 14 -Labeled Carbohydrates

A line of plastic conductivity cells available as either threaded or dip types has been announced by Industrial In struments, Inc. They are offered with a choice of electrodes, including plati num, nickel, and carbon materials. Cell constants range from 0.01 to 100. Industrial Instruments recommends the cells for use in strong alkali or acid

Four carbohydrates tagged with carbon-14 are now available from Tracerlab, Inc., in crystalline powder form for biological and food research. These uniformly labeled compounds include: glucose-C14, fructose-C14, sucrose-C", and starch-C 14 . Purity of the ο

sfif A double-capillary manometer is be ing supplied by Bronwill Scientific, Inc., in four models. Model 30-20 is adaptable to any War burg apparatus. Both capillaries are open at the bottom; at the top one is open to atmospheric pressure and the other to the reaction flask and three-way stopcock. A single scale—30 cm. long and graduated in millimeters—is used for both capillaries. Neck length is 110 mm. Model 5-20 is similar to 30-20, but has a 75-mm. neck length. The two other types which are avail able are a differential manometer and a double-capillary Summerson constant volume differential manometer. 11 Distilled Water Heater

Strong, light and fully flexible, T Y G O N Tubing makes the toughest lab "set-up" easy. It goes from a n y w h e r e to a n y w h e r e in the laboratory. It bends and twists readily — conforms to the lightest touch. It slips over tubulatures quickly — AT YOUR clings tightly. LABORATORY What's more, T Y G O N is chemically resistant, SUPPLY DEALER! glass-clear and non-oxidizing. It resists both acids and alkalies plus oils, greases, water, and most solvents. Its unusual clarity permits full solution visibility, accurate flow control. Its non-oxidizing characteristics mean long service life. TYGON

The instrument collects dust, smokes» fogs, fumes, and other particulate mat ter at sampling rates as high.as 50 ec. per minute, with 100% efficiency claimed. Samples are collected on 1 X 3 inch microslidcs or other suitable sur faces and can be used for visual, optical, electron microscopic, chemical, and spectrographic analysis. The sampling head of the Konisampler is detachable and may be placed in a remote location. A timer can be used to cut off the instrument, eliminating the need for attendance. 10
