SYNTHETIC RUBBER CARBIDE'S extensive expansion program has made 2-ethylhexanol readily available. It is an intermediate for the most widely used plasticizers and surface-active agents. 2-ethylhexanol is an excellent solvent for many types of gums, resins, and waxes. In addition it is a defoaming agent for textile, paper, chemical, and photographic processes as well as a dispersing and wetting agent. Another CARBIDE product, diisobutyl carbinol, has many uses similar to 2-ethylhexanol. So if you want either a n 8 or a 9 carbon alcohol call the nearest CARBIDE representative for assistance. For further information—ask for the technical information sheets on 2-ethylhexanol (F-7908) or diisobutyl carbinol (F-7001).
