J.T. Baker introduces theTLC Selector Kit

The new B A K E R - F L E X ™ Se

lector Kit for t h i n layer chromatography provides a variety of adsorbents on flexi ble sheets that make it easier to select the proper adsorbent type for your specific TLC separations. The Kit contains five each of four different BAKER-FLEX

TLC

flexible

sheets that you can use in the examination of your existing separation programs and for the development of new ones. The BAKER-FLEX

sheets in

cluded in the Kit are: Silica Gel IB-F, Aluminum Oxide IB-F, Cellulose and Polyamide 6. (The Silica Gel IB-F and Aluminum Oxide IB-F sheets can be charred.) There's also a booklet with helpful information on sub jects such as solvent systems, adsorbent types and visual ization techniques. The Kit sells for $10.00. To order your BAKER-FLEX TLC Selector Kit # 1 , contact your local distributor of quality J . T. Baker products today. He has the Kit in stock. J. T. ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

The Thermox Meter for oxygen and in ert gas work is calibrated logarith mically in two ranges—from air com position up to 100% oxygen and down to 0.1 ppm. Response time is 0.01 sec ond. A hot ceramic cell potentiometrically compares the oxygen partial pres sure of the test gas with that of air to produce a voltage proportional to the logarithm of this ratio. The measure ment is therefore independent of both flow rate and total system pressure. Thermo-Lab Instruments, Inc., 1312 William Flynn Highway (Route 8), Glenshaw, Pa. 15116 410

TLC Photocopier

A dry-process technique is employed to provide permanent records of TLC chromatograms. The plate and a sheet of photocopy paper are placed on the copier and exposed for a predetermined length of time. After exposure, the print is developed by placing it in a conventional TLC tank saturated with ammonia vapor. A mirror image of the chromatogram results. Small Scale Digital Computer

Model MDP-1000 is designed to pro vide an unusual versatility of applica tions in real time situations. Features include a wide variety of input/output options, a 4,096-word random access memory (expandable to 16K) with a cycle time of 2.16 ^sec, six program mable 12-bit registers, parallel adder, two accumulators, and a priority inter rupt system. A technique called "shared command" permits the use of 8-bit memory words and 12-bit register words in such a way that only one 8-bit word of memory, corresponding to a 12-bit instruction of in-line coding, is required to specify an instruction.
