In addition to the usual fluorescence techniques, the accessory is especially suited for screening samples prior to subjecting them to an analysis in which fluorescence would interfere; selection of the best wavelength to excite fluorescence for subsequent analyses; and differentiating between weakly absorbing bands which fluoresce and non-fluorescent absorption bands.
