Microgasometer has a total capacity of 2 0 0 microliters in 0.2-microliter di visions. Unit is basically a compari son manometer of Siamese type for equilibration of pressures combined with a micrometer syringe. As gas is absorbed in the reaction flask, the pressure is reduced. Liquid then rises in the right leg of the compari son manometer and falls in the left leg. The micrometer is rotated to advance the Teflon plunger into the syringe. When the liquid levels in both legs of the manometer are equili brated, the volume reading on the micrometer will be equal to the amount of gas absorbed. The syringe, made of precision bore borosilicate glass tubing and a precision ground Teflon plunger made gas- and vacuum-tight with a Viton " 0 " ring seal, and the micrometer, made from polypropylene and polyethylene, are easily cleaned and assembled. Υ. 426 P h o t o e l e c t r i c Titrator Manual titrations are eliminated with this instrument which has a magnetic stirrer and nine different narrow band color filters. A dial adjusts stirring speed, and a selenium barrier layer cell measures the amount of light passing through the titration beaker. The Gal vanometer scale gives results reproduc ible within ± 1 /2%· Titrator can be adapted for micro work for the titra tion of as little as 2 cc. of sample. Bulletin available. This Lepel 3 in 1 unit is designed for production work a s well a s for research and development laboratories doing exper imental work on semiconductor materials, thermoelectric materials and ultra pure metals. This combination fixture provides facilities for horizontal zone refining, float ing zone refining and crystal growing. All these facilities may not be required in a single program but the rapid progress in materials science emphasizes the need for just such versatile equipment.

ΪΚ This fixture consists of the three attach ments and the basic unit which contains the traverse and programming mechanism. All three attachments and the generator can be operated from the control panel. The change from floating zone opera tion to horizontal zone refining to crystal pulling require •w less than a half hour. ^sn
