We make an interesting sesquicarbonate of soda called SNOWFLAKE:

Want to try and make something oî it? SOLVAY*» SNOWFLAKE is a mild alkali with a most unusual combination of properties. Chemically, it is a true sesquicarbonate . . . n o | powdered modified soda. Hence it is stable— with predictable reactions. An excellent and inexpensive water softener . . . particularly for permanent hardness. At room temperature, a 1 % solution has m apHofabout9.8. SOLVAYSNOWFLAKjP has excellent buffering action and ff higher neutralizing values than other £^ common mild alkalis. Physically, SNOWFLAKE is crystalline, pure white, dust-free, free-flowing, non-caking—even after long storage periods,.SNOWFLAKE dissolves rapidly, even at lofr temperatures. In mixtures, SNOWFLAKE crystals keep other granular materials from caking. SNOWFLAKE is ideally suited for formulators of dry detergents, bath salts and cleansers. SOLVAY SNOWFINE#—is a smaller crystalline sesquicarbonate with identical chemical properties, but with higher bulk density. What can you make of them? Send for 12-page technical booklet and samples.
