Australian Spectroscopy Conference The Fourth Australian Spectroscopy Conference, sponsored by the Spectros­ copy Committee of the Australian Academy of Science, will be held at the Australian National University, Can­ berra, Australia, from August 20 to 23. The principal invited speaker will be Dr. G. Herzberg, F.R.S., Director, Divi­ sion of Pure Physics, National Research Council of Canada. The conference will cover all aspects of pure and applied spectroscopy. There will also be an exhibition of spectroscopic and related equipment. Abstracts of papers should be submitted before May 15. More information may be obtained by writing to Prof. A. N. Hambly, Aus­ tralian National University, Canberra, Australia.

Corp. is the exclusive distributor for thin layer chromatography equipment manufactured by Serva, Heidelberg, Germany. Siemens New York Incorporated has officially changed its name to Siemens America Incorporated. The company imports and sells products from the Siemens Organization of Germany including electron micro­ scopes, and medical and industrial x-ray equipment. Wilkens-Anderson Co., 4525 W. Division St., Chicago 51, 111., has been appointed by Unicam (Cambridge, England) as a distributor for its line of spectrophotometers. The company will stock a complete inventory of re­ placement parts for all instruments in its Chicago plant. Wilks Scientific Corp., Box 32, Noroton Heights, Conn., is a newly formed company specializing in instru­ ment development for chromatography and spectroscopy. The company offers an attenuated total reflectance (ATR) infrared service, whereby infrared spec­ tra are obtained by ATR and in­ terpreted (if necessary).
