Carbide a n d Carbon Chemicals Corp., N e w York 17, issued a slightly higher price schedule for carload a n d less than carload drum shipments on a number of chemicals as t h e result of higher container costs. Tank car prices are unchanged. Items affected a r e Butyl carbinol, diethylene triamine, tri ethylene tetramine, tetraethylene pen tamine, a n d various Carbowaxes. Fore going have all been placed on a d e livered basis a n d are effective as of Sept. 9 for spot shipments a n d Oct. 1 foi contracts. Tumb-L-Matic, N e w York, reduced prices as much as 4 5 % on its line of dry process finishing compounds for t h e plastics trade. Victor Chemical Works, Chicago, increased prices for various calcium phosphate products as t h e result of higher wage, power, and r a w material costs.
