When is this an ice pick? In the winter. After you've pried open a can of paint you may be faced with a can of ice. At that point your screwdriverpaintcanopener becomes an ice pick. But don't waste your time picking unless your water base paint contains ethylene glycol. Without it, the pigments will separate and lump into highly unpaintable globs. With it, your paint may not freeze at all. But even if it does, the freeze-thaw stability is maintained and the pigments remain in highly paintable suspension. Just thaw and paint. Ethylene glycol also improves the flowability of latex paints, acts as a leveling agent for emulsion paints, as a solvent, and as an intermediate for varnish and coating resins. And because Olin Organics' ethylene glycol starts out with ethylene oxide of singularly high purity, our distillation process, under rigid quality control, results in ethylene glycol of singularly high purity. You couldn't ask for more. Except in the way of service. And ours flows as freely and as effectively as your paint will. Even in winter. ORGANICS DIVISION 400 PARK AVENUE,
