Who killed foam? We have three pretty good suspects in our stable of organic phosphate anti-foam agents: KP-140 (tri-butoxyethyl phosphate), Kroniflex TBP (tri-butyl phosphate), and Kroniflex TOF (tri (2-ethylhexyl) phosphate). And if anyone of them did it, it didn't take

much of a slug—as little as 0.02% can kill foam dead. Choosing an anti-foam agent is still trial and error but we have six ground rules that can save you time and effort. Write for FMC's data sheet, "Organic Phosphates as Anti-foam Agents."
