Why has Kellogg been awarded 17 ammonia plants in 14 months?
Simple economics!
operation and efficient equip ment use
There must be a major reason for one organization to be award ed contracts for the engineering and construction of 17 ammonia plants within 14 months—espe cially when they represent over half of worldwide capacity for plants of 600 tpd and larger. The reason is simple economics. Kellogg-engineered ammonia plants incorporate several new design concepts integrated to provide substantial reductions in initial investment and in op erating and maintenance costs. These plants, which make opti mum use of e q u i p m e n t of standardized sizes and proved design, will be the first to pro duce up to 1,000 tpd of am monia using:
• integration of process energy recovery with production of highpressure steam for drives, proc ess, and heating
The successful record we have attained at Kellogg in creating process plants is due to a unique in-depth approach to overall economics in design, procure ment, and construction. This philosophy is illustrated in am monia production by new con cepts in furnace, exchanger, piping, plant layout, and steam generation design as well as new application of machinery. Whether your next project in volves facilities in the petro chemical, chemical or petroleum industries, we would welcome a discussion of your requirements.
• a single train of process equip ment • centrifugal compressors in all services • high-pressure reforming com bined with other process condi tions selected for optimum
