Digital manometer indicates pressure directly as a four-digit reading. Overall accuracy, including linearity, is better than 0 . 5 % of the measure ment range. The Model DM1 in cludes a variable-reluctance differ ential-pressure transducer, a self-bal ancing potentiometer digital voltmet er, and associated carrier-demodula tor intermediate circuitry. Three basic heads are available with ranges 0-10, 0 - 1 0 0 , and 1 0 - 1 0 0 0 mm Hg. A 10X sensitivity switch provides an additional measurement range of onetenth rated value for each head. The DM1 can be operated with the refer ence side pumped to give useful vacu um measurements down to 1 0 3 torr. Square W a v e Generator

Let us demonstrate all the advantages and abilities of our so-called "Throwaways": These AgCl cells are usable for aqueous and most non-aqueous samples in IR analysis up to 22 micron wavelength. Wider selection of pathlengths for less money. Reusable many times. And if cells get too dirty to clean easily, you can afford to throw them away at only $2.50 a throw. (Special holders adapt them to all IR spectro photometers.) Write for Data File LIR-466-14* on cells and accessories — the finest, most complete line in the field. ^Includes products manufactured by the Research and Industrial Instrument Company of London, England; formerly marketed by the Limit Research Corporation. Both RlIC and Limit are now it part of Beckman Instruments, Inc. Price is stated in U. S. funds and is subject to change without notice.

A compact, solid-state square wave generator produces square waves of ex ceptionally clean shape over the fre quency range 1 Hz to 10 MHz. Square-wave rise time is 5 nanoseconds, and overshoot and ringing are less than 5%. The Model 21 IB Square Wave Generator takes half the width of a 7-inch high space when rack-mounted and weighs only 9 pounds. HewlettPackard, 1501 Page Mill Rd., Palo Alto, Calif. 94304 408

Mossbauer Spectrometer

The new Model NS-1 automatic Mossbauer effect spectrometer is a modified version of a previous instru ment. This model features constant velocity and constant acceleration op erating modes over a velocity range of 0.0001 to 20 cm/second. The "Cryotip" accessory, a Joule-Thomson refrigeration system for absorber cool ing, can be used with the new spec trometer. Nuclear Science & Engi neering Corp., Pittsburgh 36, Pa. 409
