Witc o is the problem solver. Take stearates for plastics Amazing what you can do with them. Like speed up production. Cut reject rates. Improve any number of product characteristics. To help you take advantage of all their problem-solving capabilities, Witco makes the widest range of metallic stearates available. Here are some examples of what they've already done for a few plastics people: A PVC processor was having trouble with plastisol viscosity. Until he came
to us. We developed an aluminum stearate that took care of his problem in short order. A polypropylene film manufacturer was having trouble with haze. We cleared things up for him with a special grade calcium stearate that reduced the impurities causing the hazing. A cable manufacturer wanted to use stearates to speed extrusion of plastic insulation. But he couldn't find a stearate with low enough water-soluble salt content for good electrical properties. We solved his problem by developing a stearate with practically no water-soluble salt at all. In still another case, a high reject rate
was traced to high press-ejection pressures. Our solution was a zinc stearate. It proved to be such an effective mold-release agent that ejection pressures could be lowered. And reject rates dropped. What else can stearates do? Facilitate thermoplastic flow. Eliminate agglomeration at ambient temperatures. Improve light and heat stability in PVC. To name a few things. So what's the thing that's giving you trouble? We'd like to hear about it. Because what's one more problem to us but another one to grow on.
