A new triple duty, 6" magnetic stirrer, which can serve as a hot plate only, magnetic stirrer only, or a combination of both, is now available from Yonkers Laboratory Supply Co. Designed for the rapid and accurate determina tion of thiamin, riboflavin, and other substances which fluoresce i n solution. The sensitivity and stability are such that it has been found particularly useful in determining very small a m o u n t s of these substances.
The Pyro-MagneStir consists of a die cast base enclosing a built-in motor, rheostat speed control for motor, switch for motor, a 6" square aluminum hot plate with built-in thermostat, hot plate switch, and two (2) seamless Teflon covered stir rings bars 1" and l'A" long. Special baffles and air circulating system prevent over-heating of motor. Pyro-MagneStir incorporates all of the rugged features found in the regular size and King-size MagneStirs.
