\bu can tell the quality of a gas just by looking at it. If you want accurate, reproducible results, you need gases and mixtures you can count on. But how do you tell goodfrombad?
1. Look at the cylinder. At Matheson, we take the time to repaint every cylinder, every trip. Because it reflects the extra care we Ve taken inside. For ultra high purity gases, extra care means complete evacuation, vacuum baking, and purging prior to filling. And for some specialty gases, extra care also means cleaning, reconditioning, or replacing the valve every time it's filled. Many of our competitors don't take such care. But then, many of them skimp on paint, too.
2. Look at the label. We put a new label on every cylinder, to make sure all specifications and warnings are clear and legible. We think it's important to prevent confusion and unnecessary risk.
After all, Matheson wrote the book on gas safety.
3. Look at the name. If it's Matheson, you know that steps #1 and #2 have been taken care of. And that the gas or mixture inside is what we say it is—nothing more or less. And if it doesn't meet the standards of our very tough QC people, back it goes. No matter how much we've invested in preparation.
It's worth it. Impurities can cost you thousands in wasted time, inaccurate results, and process downtime. That's why Matheson quality is worth looking for. Whether you need one cylinder or 100 cylinders; a lecture bottle or a tube trailer; you'llfindMatheson quality in our more than 100 specialty gases and custom mixtures.
