You probably were depending on our carbon dioxide before you could even spell it.

You had no way of knowing about our C 0 2 back then. But you would have known if it hadn't been there. It kept your popsicles from turning to glop before the wagon reached your neighborhood. It kept your soda pop from fizzing out. And put the bubbles in your tutti-frutti ice cream sodas. Good old C 0 2 . Here it is years later and chances are you're still depending on it.

One petroleum company is using it to make a biodegradable detergent alkylate. Rubber companies are using our liquid C 0 2 to chill and harden molded rubber goods (so that they can be deflashed by machine instead of by hand). At a food processing company, they're replacing the oxygen in meat packages with our C 0 2 gas. (This prevents oxidation and CHEMICALS DIVISION

prolongs freshness during shelf life.) And meanwhile, back at Olin, we're happily expanding our production, delivery and technical service departments to keep up with industry's demand. But in spite of all this new success, we haven't forgotten our first COo customers, the soda pop and ice cream makers. We still enjoy an occasional ice cream soda ourselves, you know.
