A Simple and Inexpensive Preparative TLC Applicator Chemical products are often purified by thin-layer chromatography. Commercial applicators for TLC are expensive, and application to the plate can be tedious. Several inexpensive applicators have been sugge~ted,',~and we would like to report on one we have found. Normograph pens for ink applications may he excellent and inexpensive alternatives to commercial applicators for TLC. By using the properly graded normagraph penit is possible to lay down easily the wanted quantity of chemical product similar to the way one makes an ink mark. Dlego Monti Centro Studi Sostanre
