ACADEMIC EMPLOYMENT INITIATIVE ACS continues to run a program to support the academic hiring process through activities at its 2005 National Meetings.

If you are interested in academic employment or planning to hire new faculty in your department, this invitation is for you.

ACS NATIONAL MEETING W A S H I N G T O N , DC Monday, August 29, 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. You are invited to attend the AEI Poster Session at Sci-Mix where academic recruiters will meet informally with academic candidates. t Sci-Mix, the popular interdisciplinary poster session, those seeking faculty positions will each present a poster about his or her research or one expanding on research interests, teaching philosophy, and experience. Faculty recruiters will have the opportunity to meet as many candidates as reasonably possible.

Candidates will also have a chance both to network among themselves and to meet faculty from many more institutions than would normally be possible. Posters should be submitted through the Online Abstract Submittal System (OASYS) at http://oasys.acs.org/oasys.htm.

Abstracts for the AEI Poster Session should be submitted, following these instructions: Log on to www.chemistry.org/meetings, select "National Meetings','select "Washington, DC',' and click on "Submit an Abstract."

In order to submit your abstract to a division, locate the appropriate division section in OASYS, just as you located AEI, and follow the normal procedure for submittal.

MAKE SURE THAT THE TITLE OF YOUR DIVISION SUBMISSION HAS THE PREFIX "AEI:'' Without this prefix, your paper will be considered a duplicate and OASYS will eliminate it automatically from the division submissions.

In addition to your presentation at Sci-Mix in the AEI interdisciplinary section, you may also submit the same title and abstract to a division program for presentation at one of their non-Sci-Mix poster sessions.
