A Novel "Digital" Buret A novel "digital" huret or titrant pump, for use with a microcomputer contmlled automatic titrator has been developed. T h e buret cmsists o f a peristaltic pump driven through a pair of reducing gears I ! 1 u hy a stepper motar. T h e stepper motor is driven by four power tran,,a,"" sistors and a special purpose integrated circuit. 'l"l'1, levelpulses from ",.,, an external saurce will drive t h e pump. This design uffers several advantages over other similar burets: it may he easily constructed. the cost of the major components is low (around $125) and changing titrants is very simple. Further informationonthe buret, including a schematic diagram and a detailed parts list with vendors is available upon request. Please include a large SASE. Joseph W. Long
