Acrylate Esters
CH2 = CHCOOR ( R - C H „ C,H,)* * Butyl, isoburyl, and 2-ethylhexyl esters available in experimental quantities.
Polymers and copolymers containing acrylate esters are used in coatings for paper, leather, textiles, wood, metal, etc., in adhesives, in molding powders, and in elastomers. Acrylate polymers are very soft and extensible, and acrylate esters contribute these properties to copolymers w i t h practically all other monomers, such as vinyl chloride, styrene, and vinyl acetate. Copolymers with drying oils may also be of interest.
