DuPont's cycloaliphatic diamine offers improved resin properties in your R&D. DuPont PACM-20 offers new potential as a liquid curing agent for epoxies and urethanes and as an intermediate in polyamides. Used with epoxies, for exam ple, PACM-20 provides a medium-range pot life, high ten sile strength, toughness, good flexibility and high heat distortion temperatures (HDT's) in the cured resins. This points to appli cations in adhesives, electrical castings, filament windings and other structural uses. PACM-20 may give you added advantages by replacing isophoronediamine, hexamethylenediamine, methylenedianiline or other aliphatic and aromatic amines. Highly reactive, polyfunctional and high in purity (99.5% plus), PACM-20 is also a fresh starting point for plastics and many specialty products. It could give you transparent nylons pos sessing high HDT's, low moisture absorption and increased modulus. End-product possibilities include films, optical goods, process equipment, and automotive, appliance and electronic components. PACM-20 is bis (p-aminocyclohexyl) methane with a trans-trans isomer content of 20%. It's available in commercial quantities from Du Pont.
