FORMULA OF THE MONTH
AMMONIUM HEXAFLUOSILICATE--AMMONIUM FLUORIDE This compound has the empirical formula @IH&SiF, and was first prepared by Marignac in 1859. X-ray analysis has shown the existence of seven-coordination complexes in a number of cares, such as the heptafluozirconates, containing the ZnFr' ion. The analysis of this compound, however,(1) gave it the structture of a double salt, as the formula indicates.
