Introducing Chromosorb® LC-9. The specialist for carbohydrate analysis. Typical applications: carbohydrates, high fructose syrup, sugars, amines, nucleotides, strongly polar compounds, nitro compounds, aromatic compounds, carboxylic acids, and polyhydroxy compounds. New Chromosorb LC-9 joins the long line of fine quality column packings for liquid chromatography developed by Johns-Manville. LC-9 is a microparticulate polar-bonded HPLC column packing prepared by chemically bonding an amino-type functional group on a Chromosorb LC-6 silica surface, 10μ. Typical physical properties: totally porous, irregularly shaped, high purity silica with high polarity, surface area of 350+ m 2 g, average pore size of 110 angstroms and a bulk density (packed column) of 0.48 g/cc.
There are also eight other grades of Chromosorb LC supports and packings to choose from: LC-1 An inert diatomite-based support compatible with all liquid phases, 37-44μ. LC-2 A pellicular packing having active porous silica layers permanently bonded to an inert spherical solid glass core, 37-44μ. LC-3 A pellicular packing with alumina bonded to the surface of diatomite, 37-44μ.. LC-4 Pellicular reverse phase packing with a monomolecular layer of octadecyltrichlorosilane chemically bonded to Chromosorb LC-2, 37-44μ. LC-5 Pellicular reverse phase packing with a monomolecular layer of diphenyldichlorosilane chemically bonded to Chromosorb LC-2, 37-44μ. LC-6 A fully porous microparticulate silica, 5μ. and 10μ. LC-7 A reverse phase microparticulate HPLC column packing material prepared by chemically bonding ODS to Chromosorb LC-6 via Si-O-Si-C type bond, 5μ and 10μ. LC-8 A microparticulate polar-bonded phase HPLC column packing material prepared by chemically bonding a cyano-type group to a Chromosorb LC-6 silica surface, 5μ and 10μ.
