A prominent processing company asked our engineers t o design a blend ing kettle which h a d to meet special structural a n d operating requirements. Here is the kettle a n d here are a few of its special features: 1 heat transfer requirements called •· for unusually high steam pres sure ; to withstand t h e pressure, jackets would have to b e so thick that the weight would be undesirable; so 1% coils involving m u c h less metal ^ · -were designed t o handle the pres sures to be used, thereby reducing total weight from 18,500 pounds to 6,500 pounds; and
•J these coils were designed in t w o * * · semi-circular units so that they could b e withdrawn for cleaning a n d maintenance through side ports. Lack of head room prevented the use of customary circular coils Λ "·
lack of head room ruled out t h e customary stirrer location
Our engineers, w h o have designed many special types of kettles as well as a l i n e of standard kettles t o meet special processing problems, are well qualified by experience and knowledge to h e l p you i n t h e design of a kettle for your heating o r blending problem.
