Two new linear CeIV Schiff-base coordination polymers, catena-poly[cerium(IV)-p-N,”,N”jV”’-tetrasalicylidene3,3’,”4’-tetraaminodiphenylmethanat0-0~~,0’,0’’~~,0’’’], [Ce(tstm)],, and catena-poly[cerium(IV)-pNJ\r,N”jV”’-tetrasalicylidene-3,3‘,4,4‘-tetr~~phenylsulfonat~0~~,~,CY‘,N”,iV”’,~], [Ce(tsts)],, have been successfully synthesized using step growth chelation polymerizations between cerium(1V) octoxide or tetrakis(acetylacetonato)cerium(IV) and new, premade Schiff-bases. Both new polymers exhibit excellent solubility in organic solvents with high dielectric constants, such as DMSO, NMP, and DMF. The [Ce(tstm)], polymer fractions with low molecular weights (22H); 8.94 (s, 2H), 9.06 (s, 2H); 12.34, (s, (2H); 12.62, (s,
