Consultant/Lab Supervisor Drilling and Production Services You'll supervise a staff of profes sionals and technicians in the test ing of drilling fluids, oil well ce ments, cement additives and well stimulation materials. You'll act as a consultant to drilling and produc tion engineering personnel on mat ters pertaining to drilling fluids, ce ments and stimulation materials. Additional responsibilities in clude supervision of repairs and calibration of subsurface pressure and temperature gauges used by production operations. Reservoir Fluid A nalysis You Ί1 direct the activities of a Lab Unit which performs Pressure-VolumeTemperature (PVT) analyses on crude oil and condensate samples. These analyses include differential and flash liberations, composi tion, viscosity and PVTrelationships determined on subsurface and recombined surface samples. Core Analysis Responsibilities include routine core testing of sam ples of reservoir rock cored from development wells, including the permeability and porosity of lime stone and sandstone plugs and full diameter cores. Also special testing using a wide variety of spe cialized equipment to conduct dy namic waterflood tests, relative permeability and capillary pres sure measurements, wettability test, etc. You'll supervise a group of five to seven professionals and 20 to 25 technicians. Supervisor positions require a BS degree in chemistry, chemical engi neering or physical sciences and a minimum of 10 years' related ex perience. You also need supervis ing or consulting experience in the relevant fields of the oil drilling industry. Industrial Chemist This position involves investigat ing analytical and industrial chem ical problems arising in refining, producing, exploration and reser voir engineering. As an industrial chemist you must be able to exercise indepen dent judgment in solving a wide variety of problems involving both organic and inorganic chemistry. You must be able to develop and evaluate studies both in field and in laboratory conditions, and be familiar with and able to recom mend and use the latest instrumen tation approaches and research techniques. Also essential is the ability to as semble new instruments, develop procedures for routine operations and maintain existing equipment. Degree and requirements: Re quired is a BS degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or Chemical Engi neering and 5 to 7 years' chemical experience in one or more of the following disciplines: gas analysis; industrial oilfield bacteriology; air/water environment pollution control; oilfield water quality and treating; wet oil treating and an alysis; or an instrumental back ground in lab data management systems, X-ray fluorescence and diffraction, optical emission spectroscopy. You should also have broad experience in instrumental anal ysis, specifically with: IR, UV, NMR, GC, HPLC, GC-MS, SEM, and.TGA.
Field Microbiologist/ Bacteriologist Your responsibilities will include methods development, special problems, and advanced instru mentation applications. You'll work closely with production engi neers in problem-solving situa tions, and initiate studies with a minimum amount of supervision. Required is a BS degree in chem istry, chemical engineering, life science or microbiology and a min imum of 5 years' oilfield/indus trial bacteriology. An advanced degree is preferable, but proven re search ability is acceptable. Tech nical communication experience is a plus. For senior position 10 to 12 years' relevant experience is re quired. A PhD. in Microbiology or life science is desirable.
