Save $22,780*on a better GC/MS environment. "JC That's a conservative estimate. T h e Fisons M D 800 benchtop G C / M S may be able to save you much more. W i t h the Fisons M D 800, your lab will profit from a superior design that keeps you up and running instead of performing routine maintenance. T h e result is lower cost per analysis, higher capacity, and a far greater return on your investment. Let us show you with hard numbers. Based on a 10-year period, we've forecast the savings for a typical lab. This lab saved money as a result of fewer injector liner changes, easier ion source cleaning, and less analyzer service. Over time, these savings amounted to almost half the cost of the Fisons M D 800. Call us

Michelle V. Buchanan received her B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Kansas in 1973 and her Ph.D. in analyti cal chemistry from the University of Wis consin-Madison in 1978. After graduate school, she joined the Analytical Chemis try Division at ORNL, where she heads the Organic Spectroscopy Group. Her re search interests include the development of methods for the detection and structural characterization of trace-level organics by MS, with emphasis on trapped-ion tech niques. Robert L. Hettich received his B.S. de gree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1982 and his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Pur due University in 1986. His research at ORNL is focused on the development of FTMS ionization methods and ion manip ulation techniques for the structural char acterization of biomolecules, such as DNA adducts, and fullerenes.
