Quartz Radiation Corp., 54 Sum­ mer Ave., Newark, N. J., has estab­ lished a complete repair and construc­ tion service for all types of quartz flasks, combustion chambers, and labo­ ratory equipment composed of quartz or vycor tubing. This company, which manufactures quartz lamps, is also en­ gaged in the development and produc­ tion of high intensity light sources up to 10,000 watts. Spectromagnetic Industries has moved from San Carlos to a new large factory at 25393 Huntwood Ave., Hayward, Calif. This firm makes electro­ magnetic and electronic specialties. Taylor Instrument Co. of Roches­ ter, N. Y., has established a new sub­ sidiary near Mexico City. It is called Taylor Instrument Mexico, S. A. The new company will do some local manufacturing and handle instrument assembly and repair. The new com­ pany brings to a total of eight, the number of Taylor subsidiaries operat­ ing throughout the world. Texas Instruments, Inc., and In­ ternational Telephone and Tele­ graph Corp. have agreed to ex­ change non-exclusive patent licenses and technical information concerning semiconductor components. Texas In­ struments will also supply a portion of ITT's needs for semiconductor devices and components. Tracerlab, Inc., Waltham, Mass., has received a U. S. Patent (No. 2,968,722) which involves the broad principle of •'Radiometric Exchange," a super­ sensitive technique for detection and analysis of chemicals and gases by caus­ ing them to react with a radioactive compound. This system has potential wide utility in air pollution studies, at­ mospheric and outer space measure­ ments, and industrial process control, according to Tracerlab.
