Another principal field has been the mutual solubility of liquids and the freezing of their mixtures (pieeometric analysis). log of the periodicals in the Belgian libraries, teachen histor of chemistry, and was the prime figure in the salvation of the stas relics [see THISJOURNAL, 14, 353-7 (1938)l. Dr. Timmermans has been Director of the International Bureau of Physico-Chemical Standards s i n e its creation a t Brussels in 1921; he was President of the Belgian Chemical Society 1928-29; in 1930 he presided over the first national Belgian mngress of sciences.
