so much interest—in so manyfields— we've expanded production of... CYANAMID'S The properties of PAM, water-soluble p o l y m e r , have s t i r r e d u p so much interest in so m a n y fields we've built new facilities to produce three grades : 50, 75, a n d 10O i n semi-commercial quantities. A white, odorless powder, PAM is readily soluble in. cold water to form solutions stable over a wide pH range. It undergoes hydrolysis, imidization and methylolation, yielding· products with a variety of useful physical and chemical properties. Many of these p r o d u c t s become water-insensitive when heated or dLried. PAM provides: Dispersion - fox emulsion polymeri zation, colloid peptization, pigment dispersion. Thickening—for latex emulsions, cosmetics, printing pastes. Film-forming properties — in warp sizing and coating applications-
POLYACRYLAMIDE
Adhesion—for p i g m e n t c o a t i n g s , ceramic slips, sand molds. PAM gives many adhesives better s t r e n g t h , improved s p r e a d a b i l i t y , high tack a n d w a t e r r e s i s t a n c e . I t m a k e s a good r e l e a s e s u r f a c e f o r pressure-sensitive tapes. Partially hydrolyzed PAM has many
of the above properties, and i t also r e t a r d s w a t e r loss in c e m e n t s and mortars. Interested in taking· off in one of these many directions? We'll b e glad to send you a detailed b u l l e t i n and s a m p l e s a n d t o w o r k w i t h y o u in developing potential applications.
