Nuclear data is available on "keysort" cards. Printed on the face of each card is the chemical name, atomic number, atomic weight, half-life, and complete alpha, beta, and gamma ener gies as taken from the "Nuclear Data Sheets" of the National Academy of Science. This information is also punched along the card edge so that any particular card, or cards having specific information, may be quickly sorted from the remaining cards. The cards in Series I include all the commercially available artificial iso topes, plus the naturally radioactive isotopes. This deck contains 260 cards. Further matching decks are planned for the future and corrected cards are produced as soon as data is available. Scientific Equipment Co., P. 0 . Box 19086, Indianapolis 19, Ind. 416

THIS VERSATILE P-K LABORATORY BLENDER PRE-BLENDS, DISPERSES LIQUIDS, GRANULATES If you have any liquid-solids or solidsolid blending requirements, consider the P-K Liquid-Solids Blender. It's a fast, efficient and extremely versatile laboratory tool. With it, you'll find most blending operations can be accom plished in 1 to 5 minutes, achieving a uniformity not attainable with other types of mixing equipment. 3 Different Blending Actions

Gentle Precision Blending. Unique "Twin-Shell" tumbling action will not cause attrition of even the most delicate crystals. Intensive Mixing of Hard-to-Blend Dry Solids. Exclusive "rabbit ear" dispersion blades on rapidly revolving bar break up agglomerates. Liquid Solids Blending. Disperses and

blends, uniformly, liquids of any viscos ity with dry solids. (Blends from %% liquids by weight to whatever percent age solids can absorb and still remain a solid.) Liquid is introduced into hol low shaft of revolving bar by gravity or pump. Then, flung outward from dis persion discs into the tumbling mass of dry materials. P-K Liquid Solids Laboratory Blend ers are available in 8- and 16-qt, capaci ties, in transparent lucite or stainless steel. For complete technical informa tion and prices, write to P-K's Chemical and Process Equipment Division, 225 Burson St., East Stroudsburg, Penna.

The microscope heating stage shown is one of four models available with varying temperature ranges. They are: 1) for tissue culture, —20° to + 8 0 ° C; 2) for microchemistry, - 2 0 ° to +350° C: 3) for transmitted and reflected light, 0° to 1350° C; and 4) vacuum heating stage for reflected light, 0° to 1750° C. Specimens are heated electrically by a heating ele ment; two large transformers are at tached, one to adjust the speed with which specimens are heated. The ef fects of heat on the specimen can be viewed through the microscope or the process can be photographed by the Orthomat scientific camera. Leitz, Inc., Scientific Instrument Div., 468 Park Ave. South, New York 16, Ν. Υ. 417 Gas Chromatograph The Model 700 is a dual column instrument especially suited for sep arations which must be frequently re peated. The low mass oven permits rapid heating and cooling and ease of column changing. The instrument has modular design, permitting the addi tion of accessory items as needed.
