J. E. Katon is professor of chemistry and director of the Molecular Microspectroscopy Laboratory (MML) at
Miami University. He holds a B.A. degree from Bowling Green State University, an M.S. degree in organic chemistry from Kansas State University, and a Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Maryland. He joined Miami University in 1968 after spending 10 years with the Monsanto Company. His interests are the analytical and physical chemistry applications of IR and Raman spectroscopy.
Gilbert E. Pacey is an associate professor of chemistry and associate director of the MML. He received a B.A. degree in chemistry at Bradley University and a Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago in 1979. He joined
the Miami faculty in 1979. His research interests include the areas of organic analytical reagents, flow injection analysis, and molecular microspectroscopy.
Jerome O'Keefe received his A.B. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1973. After serving as an officer in the U.S. Army for four years he completed his Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry at Pennsylvania State University in 1984. He taught at Duke University before joining the MML at Miami University in 1984 as a postdoctoral associate. His current research interests include characterization of molecular vibrations and applications of vibrational spectroscopy.
