New Products Automating Gas Chromatographs Compulab/GC is a new system designed to automate both process and laboratory chromatographs using a single computer system. The system gathers data, processing and reporting functions for up to 64 chromatographs simultaneously. Other instruments such as mass spectrometers, ir analyzers, and blood analyzers can also be added to the system. The system can operate independently or as a module in a larger system and can handle chromatographs with sample, stream and columns switching, and/or temperature programming. It is possible to automate laboratory or process analyses for as little as $2000 per month on a leaseback arrangement. Davis Computer Systems, Inc., 280 Park Ave., New York, N . Reaction Systems

The Series 800 reaction systems are designed to study gas-phase chemical reactions which supply information on kinetic data, evaluating catalytic systems, and studying flow processes. The instruments are equipped with noncatalytic gold reactors and contain all controls for operation. Data provided are highly reproducible, accurate, and can be acquired rapidly. Prices start at $3490; six models are available. Chemical Data Systems, Inc., Oxford, Pa, 19363. 215-932-3636 413

ElectroniK 194 lab/test wide-chart recorders come in multirange and singlespan models. Models are available for bench, shown above, panel, or standard 19-in. relay-rack mounting. New features of these servo-potentiometric recorders with 10-in. wide record chart include an improved chart platen, relocation of function switches, new dropdown, self-storing door for rack and panel models, and optional feet for bench-mount operation. The recorders have been designed for a variety of laboratory and test functions and offer proven performance and design features. Prices range from $1040 to $1670. Honeywell, Inc., MS436, Fort Washington, Pa. 19034. 215-643-1300

This model is equipped with a series wound motor and solid state control providing adjustable speed between 25 and 150 RPM. The Flash Evaporator assures high evaporation rate—without contaminating back-drip—of aqueous solutions, high boiling point solvents and other materials. An ideal source of heat is Buchler's Thermo-Lift which is a combination lift and temperature controlled water bath. The Thermo-Lift, which may be adjusted from 8" to 16" in height, is useful as a source of heat for rotary evaporators, for distillation procedures and for applications where flexibility in height is required.
