Laboratory filter paper can per form at its best only if it offers the right combination of flow, retention, and wet strength characteristics for the specific need. This E-D Filter Paper Selector Chart is designed to help you in choosing the right filter paper for any application.

Every number on the chart repre sents a grade of E-D qualitative or quantitative filter. Its position on the chart is determined by that grade's particular flow and retention charac teristics. Numbers appearing to the right of the line indicate most widely used papers; those appearing to the left indicate grades whose combi nation of characteristics lend them selves to special-purpose use. Qualitative and Quantitative Filters — Most E-D grades are qualitative filters. Three, however, are quanti tative grades: #60 (fast), #70 (Medi um) and #80 (slow). Ash content of each E-D quantitative filter is a full 25% less than that called for in ASTM and government regulations. Chromatography and Electropho resis — Included in E-D's complete line of quality filter papers are sev eral grades ideally suited to chro matography and electrophoresis. For chromatography, see #613, #7, #248, and #629. For electrophoresis, see #301 and #320. About quality — E-D has long been the nation's leading producer of filter papers for the laboratory and for industry — and quality is the reason. E-D safeguards paper qual ity, purity and uniformity every inch of t h e w a y f r o m pulptofinished prod uct. Three times every hour, during the entire paper making process, quality control technicians make ex acting tests for rapidity, wet and dry strength, air resistance, weight and thickness. To make sure of quality, make sure you specify E-D. For addi tional information, please write
