SPARKLER FILTERS A m a t t e r of minutes not hours for a c o m p l e t e change of p l a t e s in a S p a r k l e r filter* N o shut d o w n of production to dismantle and clean each plate separately, then reassemble the complete filter, with hours of lost opera t i n g t i m e and a messy clean up job. The complete plate cartridge assembly is hoisted out of the Sparkler filter tank and a clean set of plates lowered in position and the filter is w o r k i n g again in a few minutes. Can you do this with your present filter?

Chemo Puro Mfg. Corp., Long Island City 1, N. Y., has reduced the price of its salicylamide 5 cents per pound, or to $1.48 per pound in 250-lb. drums, ranging up to $1.60 in 25-lb. drums, New York. Company officials explain that the reduction was made possible by everincreasing use of salicylamide, which they say is replacing aspirin and sodium salicylate in many pharmaceuticals. They point out further that salicylamide has one third the toxicity of aspirin, contains 33r/f more salicylic acid, and in general is more efficacious.

One Sparkler filter with an e x t r a s e t of p l a t e s is equal to t w o filters for continuous operation in most chemical production line installations.

The Chemical Div., Celanese Corporation of America, reduced prices of several solvents, effective June 23, including Celanese solvents, Nos. 203, 301, and 901; also isobutyl alcohol, n-propyl acetate, and n-propyl alcohol. The Ernest Bischoff Co., Ivoryton, Conn., has reduced its price of My-B-Den, used in adenylic acid therapy by 33%, effective July 1, due to expanded production. The company explains that muscle adenylic acid is a unique biochemical agent essential to basic life processes. It is used in treatment of varicose vein complications, bursitis, and pruritics of various etiologies. Mann Fine Chemicals, Inc., New York 6, has issued a wholesale price list for July-August. On the cover page it lists eight new products. V O L U M E
