"We now have phthaloyl chloride capacity to satisfy your long-term requirements·' Stu Allen, Du Pont Division Director Du Pont has just completed a major plant expansion for the production of phthaloyl chlor ides. We're now capable of sup plying commercial quantities and ready to meet long-term supply commitments. Both our phthaloyl chlor ides, terephthaloyl chloride (TCI) and isophthaloyl chloride (ICI),are used to make polymers such as polyesters and polyarylates.

Try phthaloyl chlorides in your polymer work.

ο ISOPHTHALOYL CHLORIDE

TEREPHTHALOYL CHLORIDE

At room temperature, TCI and ICI are white crystalline sol ids. They're soluble in ether and other organic solvents. Above their minimum freezing points, 41.5°CforICIand81.5°Cfor TCI, they're water-white liquids substantially free of insoluble impurities. Apply for a sample of either TCI (p-phthaloyl chloride) or ICI (m-phthaloyl chloride) to try in your R&D work. Write on your company letterhead to Mr. Edward F. Schultz, Du Pont Company, Room G 38862, Wilmington, DE 19898. In the Asia/Pacific area, write: Y. Kobayashi, DuPont Far East-Japan, Kowa Building N.2, 11-39, Akasaka 1-chome, Minato-Ku, Tokyo 107, Japan.
