Biographical Sketch Professor Ilsoon Lee joined the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University in 2002. Previously, he studied at Seoul National University (summa cum laude, South Korea), the University of Delaware (USA), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) for his Bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees and also his postdoctoral experience, respectively. His research interests include molecular-level control of self-assembled functional thin films and nanostructured materials and layer-by-layer assembly. His expertise includes the nanofabrication and characterization of nanomechanical properties of thin films, anisotropic functional nanoparticles, and high-surface-area and high-selectivity bioactive interfaces for sensors, biocatalytic reactors, and renewable energy.
