OXYGEN ANALYZER

OXYGEN ANALYZER

Thermox Probe Model One is an oxygen analyzer for inert gas work that features a remote sensor unit that can be mounted through the wall of a chamber to monitor the atmosphere inside without pump and piping. T h e instrument is calibrated from 0.01 ppm O2 u p to air composition. T h e instrument operates by comparing the oxygen partial pressure of the test gas with that of air, using an electrochemical cell. I t can also be used as an in-line analyzer. Thermo-Lab Instruments, Inc. 401 VALVE OPERATORS

New line of hydrostatic valve operators consists of electrically or pneumatically powered instruments incorporating hydrostatic transmission which permits development of maximum torque and thrust at zero output speed. T h e actuators develop torques to 250,000 in.-lb and can actuate gate and rotary valves from 8-in. to 54-in. sizes. They can be quickly and easily mounted directly over the valve stem. Ledeen Go. 402 CALIBRATION BATH

VISCOSITY REGULATOR

CALCULATOR/COMPUTER

Dry-fluidized calibration bath is intended for use in calibrating resistance thermometer bulbs, thermistors, filled systems, and thermocouples. T h e console unit is fully instrumented and may be had with one, two, or more baths. T h e bath utilizes a fluidized bed of aluminum oxide granules and temperature gradient from center to sides and from top to bottom and is rt0.2"F. T h e calibration baths are customized to meet special requirements. McHugh Thermodynamics Corp. 403 VISCOSITY REGULATOR

The transducer operates with the standard Kaman oscillator-demodulators or with a light-weight 28-V aerospace package. Kaman Corp. 405 OIL DETECTION SYSTEM

T h e Aqualert oil detection and control system is sensitive to a wide variety of oils in forms ranging from emulsions of 25 ppm to slugs of pure oil. I t makes possible continuous automatic monitoring of condensate streams for trace oil contamination. T h e system is all solidstate and can be readily disassembled for cleaning, though it is selfcleaning under most conditions. Sensitivity, alarm setting, reset, and zero adjustments are provided. Bull and Roberts, Inc. 406 CALCULATOR/COMPUTER

Model 380 programming keyboard is a compact, desk-top unit which provides built-in magnetic tape storage for u p to 640 program steps. Programs on the 380 can be learned directly from the keyboard at the flip of a switch and stored on removable ?;track cartridges for immediate operations or later reuse. Basic arithmetic capability is also available. Wang Laboratories, 407 Inc.

ANEMOMETER

LITERATURE

The Thermo-Anemometer permits lab precision measurement of slowly moving air with a portable unit. I t has fast response and is clearly readable to the nearest fpm a t a glance. T h e sensing element is a heated thermocouple protected by a guard, and the instrument is powered by a self-contained 1.3-V mercury cell. Accuracy is assured at temperatures between 20” and 150°F. Alnor Instrument Co. 408

Testing machines. Bulletin M3 contains detailed engineering and application data on the new five-scale, Model M3 low-range testing machine, which features an internal ratio converter and one-weight pendulum. The models described are powered and handoperated table or floor units, with choice of three daylight openings covering the ranges 0-12.5 lb, 0-25 lb, 0-50 lb, 0-100 lb, and 0-300 lb. Accessory line includes recorders, indicators, and gripping fixtures. W. C. Dillon & Co., Inc. 412
