Our team of over 1400 people, busy at eight plant locations, serve laboratories throughout the world. Company headquarters, founded in Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1902, now includes our Development Laboratories and Instrument Manufacturing Divisions in addition to a large distribution operation. at the home plant. Required: a B.S. in chemistry or related science, plus a flair for sales work. (Laboratory experience and a college minor in liberal arts is helpful.) Apparatus Design: Our project engineers design and develop Fisher instruments and apparatus of the future. From conceiving the idea to the building of the finished model, each man is in full charge of assigned projects. Experienced draftsmen, electronics men, machinists, and other service groups assist the project engineer. Required: a B.S. in chemistry, physics, or mechanical engineering, plus a record of creative design accomplishment and laboratory experience. Analytical Chemist: Using the latest instrumentation, our chemists analyze reagents to meet rigid purity specifications. Required: a B.S. in chemistry. Technical Specialist: These are our company instrument experts, working with salesmen in setting up and demonstrating apparatus to customers. There are many other positions in which you may employ your technical know-how. Training Fisher offers comprehensive, individualized training programs in both technical sales and administrative work. Our eight-week, university-level Applied Products School is open to all technical employees upon plant managers' recommendations. It is conducted three times a year. When not in session, A.P.S. instructors tour the various plants, conducting field product seminars. Salary and Performance Review At Fisher the salary range for each position is based upon the responsibilities involved and the skills and experiences required.
