Obituary William G. Ungerer William G. Ungerer, president o f Ungerer & Co., dealers in raw materials for perfumes, died February 27 a t his home in N e w York in his sixty-second year. M r . Ungerer studied in Paris and spent several years a t Grasse, t h e center of the perfume raw material industry. On his return t o t h e United States h e succeeded his father as perfume chemist with Colgate & Co., and in 1901 organized his o w n firm, Ungerer & Co., to succeed W. P. Ungerer & Co., established b y his father in 1893. During the World War, Mr. Ungerer raised funds to b u y ambulances for the American Field Ambulance Service and for t h e support of war orphans a t Grasse, and for these and other services w a s made a chevalier of the Legion of Honor i n 1927. H e was a founder of the N e w York Drug and Chemical Club and the Aroma Club. In 1906 he started the American Perfumer and Essential Oil Review.
